Five Women Wearing the Same Dress |
|
by Alan Ball |
| Directed by Alan Brooks |
| Five bridesmaids ditch the wedding to dish the bride, share some laughs, and end up discovering what really connects them -- beyond the identical pastel dresses. This comedy from Alan Ball (creator of television's Six Feet Under and True Blood, and acclaimed screenwriter of the film American Beauty) gives us both uproarious comedy and touching, poignant insights as we watch these women snipe, gossip, drink, whoop, and bond on the fringe of an upper crust Tennessee wedding. |

The Changeling |
by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley |
| Directed by Ralph Eastman |
| Murder! Lust! Passion! Shakespeare’s competitors wrote dozens of immensely popular plays that were – essentially -- the “slasher films” of their time. The Changeling graphically portrays the schemes of a love-struck villain as he seduces a beautiful young noblewoman into his web of murder and perversity. Not all classics are dusty! |

Tartuffe: Born Again |
by Freyda Thomas |
| Directed by Dennis Cockrum |
| In this multi-media update of a classic, Freyda Thomas updates Molière’s tale of religious hypocrisy by moving it to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the 1980’s. It takes the efforts of family, the F.B.I., and President Reagan himself to finally undo the treacherous Tartuffe. |
